Why I'm Not Weighing Myself in 2018
One of my major resolutions this year is to not step on the scale for all of 2018. Here's why:
1. This year I want to focus on NON-AESTHETIC GOALS. There are so many things that I want to achieve in life that matter more than my appearance.
2. I don't want to OBSESS over something so small. I find that when I step on the scale I start to think about my weight more and more often. This is such a minimal part of my life, I don't need to be spending time thinking about it.
3. I don't want to be tempted to base my SELF WORTH on what the scale says. When I weigh myself regularly, I can have a good day or a bad day based on what the scale tells me. There are so many more important things that define who I am and what I'm capable of than a number, and I'm not going to let this affect my mood and productivity in 2018.
4. I have ALTERNATIVE FITNESS GOALS that I would prefer to focus on. I want to become a more well-rounded athlete, lift heavier weights, and increase my flexibility. I also want to work on my mental fitness through a regular meditation practice and by expanding my knowledge.
